The Culture of My Hometown Website

Created and managed a cultural heritage website dedicated to Afyonkarahisar. The platform shares articles on local history, gastronomy, and traditions, enriched with interviews and original content. Its aim is to increase the recognition of the city’s cultural identity and connect younger audiences with regional heritage.

Anthocyanin Sensor for pH and Contamination

Aimed to designed a paper-based sensor using natural anthocyanin pigments to indicate pH changes and detect bacterial contamination. Prepared red cabbage extracts and tested them across different pH levels and culture conditions. Built a calibration scale from visual color shifts and applied the system to bacterial samples, demonstrating distinct responses for Gram-positive and Gram-negative strains.

Battery-Powered Electric Vehicles Sustainability

The project’s central aim is to critically examine whether BEVs are truly sustainable, highlighting how different media outlets frame the debate around environmental and social impacts. Built a large, training-ready corpus from ~40,000 BEV news articles. Designed an annotation scheme combining coverage themes (technology, policy, market, supply chain, sustainability) with stance labels (consensus-building vs. counter-argument).
